Bhutto death explanation 'pack of lies'

A TOP aide to slain Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto has rejected the government's explanation of her death as a "pack of lies".

The Pakistan interior ministry said Bhutto died when she hit her head on her vehicle's sunroof as she ducked after a gun and suicide attack on a campaign rally, and that no bullets or shrapnel were found in her.

"It is baseless. It is a pack of lies,'' said Farooq Naik, Bhutto's top lawyer and a senior official in her Pakistan People's Party.

"Two bullets hit her, one in the abdomen and one in the head.

"Bhutto's personal secretary Naheed Khan and party official Makhdoom Amin Fahim were in the car and they saw what happened.

"It is an irreparable loss and they are turning it into a joke with such claims.

Jacqueline Gold: the woman who reinvented Ann Summers

Jacqueline Gold is the woman who turned her daddy's chain of sleazy Ann Summers sex shops into a multi-million-pound 'retail experience'. But beyond the boardroom there have been far harder battles - like facing up to years of sex abuse. She talks to Lucy Cavendish

For such a teeny tiny person, 47-year-old Jacqueline Gold carries a lot of weight on her shoulders. She may look like a little doll with her side-tied chignon and tight-fitting Alexander McQueen dress, but during the course of our conversation she coughs nervously and, at one point, tears come to her eyes. I hadn't expected this.

Youths support alco-pop measure

Chanting slogans and carrying signs, a group of students from around the state sought support Wednesday for legislation that would move so-called "alcohol-pops" to state liquor stores shelves.

"They display them in a way that makes it look like it isn't alcohol, " said Megan Urbanik, a student at Pinnacle Canyon High School in Price. Urbanik said she believed it was wrong to sell the flavored malt beverages in stores where minors can shop.

She was one of about 90 other members of the Governing Youth Council of Utah at the Capitol for the rally, a group committed to encouraging students to stay free from alcohol, tobacco and drugs and live a healthy lifestyle.

Liz Ferguson, a prevention specialist from Price who accompanied the students, said the group chose the legislation they wanted to support.

Most dangerous country of the World

I am an American born and breed and I am married to a "muslim pakistani man" and very proud to be. I think that, the "political" stuff has alot to do with what is going on there. Pakistan is not dangereous to others, but only to themselves!!!!!! They are fighting against eachother and for what reason? All I have heard and seen for the last few months are a lot of innocent people with families getting killed for no reason at all. There are so many good muslims that are just trying to make bread and butter for their families. Of course, we don't hear about the ones that are just trying to live day to day with their families. They are the ones trying to live a nice and peaceful life, but how can they when there is fighting in the streets and all over their country? All we hear about is all of the negative things about Pakistan and there is a lot more to our country than that, but why would they want to show that part for? *sighs* Why doesn't Newsweek do more articles about the soliders that have lost their lives in iraq and the families that are left behind to try and pick up the pieces of their lives.

Chief: Officer abused power

Despite not having any official business related to the arrest, Jasso accessed police computer records to find the truck's registered owners and the owners' backgrounds.

Also while on duty, Jasso contacted one of the truck's owners and arranged to buy it for $5,000, even though it was worth more than $15,000, Smith said. Jasso then met with a second owner of the truck who was in the Nueces County Jail, saying he was there on police business.

Smith said in the letter that when the co-owner was released from jail, Jasso, while on duty, picked up the man and drove him to a credit union where he paid the owner $1,500 -- meant to be the man's share of the $5,000.

The department's Criminal Investigation Division started to look into the incident in May 2007 after an assistant district attorney told Smith about the truck's sale.

Hip-Hop Rumors: We Don't Need No Rumors Today!

I would like to quickly clarify what happened at the Kanye West show in California. Actually, it was a Common show that Kanye popped up on. Last week I said that Kanye dissed the Grammys. Well, it wasn't at the Anaheim show like I said. This apparently occurred at the Hollywood show at the House of Blues. I wasn't there so I didn't hear it or anything. Also, I heard that in a third verse freestyle, Kanye said “I beat 50."
Thanks a lot, Peter!! (See the pics down below)

EMINEM RUMORS FALSE

There was another crappy Eminem rumor coming out that the Detroit rapper was going to be wrestling in the WWE. Shame on you if you believed that one. It was refuted faster than any other rumor in the history of man.

JUNO: Separating Fact from Fiction

The comedic fictional movie Juno has garnered praise, awards and nominations. It has also created uproar among those of us for whom adoption is not a comedy, but our life. The namesake character in this film was taken from the Roman version of Hera, Greek goddess of marriage, who is not notable as a mother. Myths include that Zeus and/or Hera herself were disgusted with her son, Hephaestus' ugliness and threw him from Mount Olympus. .

New Year's baby notched up holiday tally for parents

As Benjamin laid on the hospital room sofa, deep in the slumber of an exhausted new parent, Michelle recounted the rest of their milestones.

"We started dating on Thanksgiving (2006) and we were engaged on Christmas Eve," she said.

The couple first met in 1991 in Mount Vernon, Ind., when Michelle's father brought her family there because of his job, she said.

"We were in the same home-school group," she said.

Michelle ended up living in Kansas City, Mo. She reconnected with Benjamin after finding his MySpace page while surfing the Internet on the Fourth of July 2006.

Benjamin, 24, is employed by Insight Communications, where he works as a television and cable repair crew member.

Michelle, 25, is planning to be a stay-at-home mother.

"I tease him that I want 10 other children," she said.
