Crucial delay in Heather Ledger death with calls to Mary-Kate Olsen

THE masseuse who found Heath Ledger's body spent nine minutes making three calls to starlet Mary-Kate Olsen before dialling for emergency help, police now reveal.

And she called the former TV sitcom child star a fourth time after paramedics arrived with Olsen's security guards in tow.

Earlier reports suggested the masseuse, Diana Wolozin, made two calls and waited only moments before calling Olsen and then authorities.

Police believe Ledger, 28, was already dead when Wolozin found his body and that the delay in calling authorities could not have saved the actor.

But they paint a more precise picture of the bizarre series of events surrounding the Perth-born actor's final moments and the strength of his bond with Olsen, 21.

The "party pals'' are now believed to have been friendly for two years - a friendship they were able to key out of the public spotlight - before casually dating for the past three months.

Democrats eyeing record turnout

This alone is scandalous, and do we want to risk national security by putting these two back in? Remember, President Clinton was responsible for giving Communist China guided missile technology in exchange for millions of dollars in campaign contributions. He personally signed that particular executive order.

'Hannity & Colmes' Exclusive: Bill Cunningham on Obama Comments

They're getting complaint calls.

COLMES: I noticed you make up names for John McCain. You don't call him John Sidney McCain III, which is his full name, but you call him Barack Hussein Mohammed Obama. So you have a double standard there, don't you, Mr. Cunningham?

CUNNINGHAM: My standard, Alan Colmes, is for the American people and the American way of life.

HANNITY: I've got a question.

CUNNINGHAM: And I want you to say that "George Bush has kept me safe for the last seven years." Say it, Alan. Say it.

HANNITY: What do you call Alan Colmes?

CUNNINGHAM: I call Alan Colmes a well-intended liberal who's a left-wing radical extremist to the left of a Bolshevik.

COLMES: To the left of a Bolshevik.

Software Mac OS X Hits Record Marketshare, Continues to Chip at ...

Linux also showed modest gains, up from 0.63% to 0.67% between December 2007 and January 2008. Part of this may be due to the popularity of cheap Linux driven PCs, such as the Eee PC and the Everex CloudBook which is available online from Wal-Mart (although Eee PC will soon be available with a stripped-down version of Windows XP). For the study, Net Applications used metrics collected from 40,000 partner websites to yield a large sample group and a relatively accurate picture of the current OS market. Windows still remains a strong leader in the OS market, but Linux providers and Apple can both take a measure of pride in that they're slowly chipping away a bit at the foundation of Microsoft's success. Of course that all could change with the next operating system, particularly if it's better received than Windows Vista.

Hsieh blasts Ma for filing suit

Ma was indicted last February on charges of embezzling NT$11.17 million from a special allowance fund designated for his discretionary use while he served as Taipei mayor from 1998 to 2006. The funds in question are disbursed to cover the mayor's job-related expenses.

While the court has acquitted Ma in the first and second trials on the grounds that he merely followed past practice and had no intent to embezzle, the special investigation team is still probing other corruption allegations against him.

Among them are cases involving the three-in-one sale of the Broadcasting Corporation of China (sq), China Television Co () and the Central Motion Picture Corp (vq) to China Times Group subsidiary Jungli Investment Co (aRꤽq) in 2005 for NT$9.3 billion (US$286.7 million), and the party's sale of the Institute of Policy Research and Development building to Yuan Lih Construction Corp for NT$4.3 billion last year.

War on Terrorism

Americans will be in far greater danger of a terrorist attack after midnight Saturday due to House Democrats, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Cal.), deciding to leave town for a break rather than vote on a surveillance bill that cleared the Senate Tuesday.

Sadly, the good folks at the Associated Press don't seem concerned, for instead of painting an accurate picture of this truly abysmal delay tactic by the left, the wire service chose to defend Pelosi and the Democrats while conveniently ignoring some key facts.

Hayden Panettiere GQ Magazine's Obsession of the Year

"You can't schedule rehab for me. And I don't think you can schedule any DUIs," Panettiere told the magazine. "I think I'm going to be one of those boring girls."

For a boring girl, Panettiere is pretty racy, saying she doesn't mind rumors that she's interested in women and naming her favorite beautiful actresses.

"You want to make me a lesbian? That's totally fine with me," she said.

"We could do a love affair with Angelina [Jolie]. ... There are so many beautiful girls. Charlize Theron. Oh, my God. Kate Beckinsale is gorgeous. Jessica Alba."

The tabloid target also mocks rumors linking her to a string of boyfriends, including castmate Milo Ventimiglia and actor B.J. Novak from "The Office."

"Well, now that I'm single, it's like I'm dating every male I'm standing next to," she said.
